What are the best tv series on the US right now? Some really great TV shows that are not:1. Lost2. Desperate Housewives3. Smallville4. Grey's Anatomy5. Prison Break6. Heroes Also, I'm not sure if I'll like House or Dexter. My friend likes these shows very much, but I don't know if I can actually last one sitting with these shows, based on what I've seen from commercials. It's only commercials so I'd like other people's opinions on such shows. And of course, I'm never going to be into serials like CSI, The Closer, Law and Order, etc. So, anything good to watch lately? What I've listed are, I suppose, ''serious'' shows, but the thing is, I haven't really been keeping in touch with sitcoms since Friends, That 70's Show, Seinfield, and Frasier. So anything in that department would be nice as well : ) So... Would you like to recommend me a good TV show?
I personally hate those CSI type shows, but Dexter is great. I don't find it boring at all, House I kind of do though. So... Would you like to recommend me a good TV show?
Dexter and Lost and Supernatural are good times.
Dexter and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Nip/Tuck, The Office, Scrubs, How I met your Mother, Two and a half Men
Mad Men. Has this new forum format caused any unbearable slowdown for people?
I'd say give House, 24, and perhaps The Office a try.
I was just going to recommend Dexter actually
3 best shows on tv imo are definitely House, Heroes, and Two and a Half Men
Everything on American television networks is garbage. IT's only good fo corrupting our culture and giving people absurd ideas of what's acceptable.Shows like the Deseperate Housewives, Sex in the City encourage teenagers to engage in premartial sex, wives to cheat on their husbands.I recommend only watching shows on the following channels...The Discovery ChannelThe History ChannelThe National Geographic ChannelAnimal PlanetThe Learning ChannelPBSandESPNIF it's not on those channels it's absolutely terrible.

I'm watching Heroes and Prison Break now, though only just started on Season 1 of Prison Break - excellent show. There is a new two episode version of 24 coming soon with the ads just starting on Sky. Shame its not the start of a full series, but something is better than nothing after the writers strike.

oh yeah!!! How could I have forgotten about Mad Men? Is that show still on? I remember like 2 years back when I saw the first 3 episodes. It was nice, but... Well, has anyone else been watching it and think it's nice?So other than Mad Men, I think I'm going to go ahead and give Dexter a try. I hope it's good.As for sitcoms...1. I really don't like Two and a Half Men. Don't think it's all that funny. Too old to be able to stomach Charlie Sheen2. I absolutely detest the How he Met His Mother show. Definitely not my cup of biscuits. Are there any well done sitcoms nowadays? Some that at least come close to the vein of humor as oldies such as Third Rock from the Sun, or (dare I say it) even Everybody Loves Raymond?
You should buy The Wire on DVD. It is by far the best TV show ever.
Mad Men. EASILY the finest show on television. If you like AMAZING writing, sharp acting, impeccable production design, mind-blowingly gorgeous lighting and dynamic characters, you wil NOT be dissapointed! It's just far and away better than anything else on TV right now. Also try: 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny, and the threesome of NOVA, NOVAScienceNOW and Frontline. :D

[/QUOTE] Now that Arrested Development is off the air, the only sit-coms that I find watchable are 30 Rock and The Office (American version).
