Mark Wahlberg - A real Catholic?

He claims that he found Religion. Sure, but he takes on roles in movies such as Max Payne and Four Brothers about revenge and violence. I know he is an actor but don't you think that as someone who strongly believes in God - he claims that Religion changed his life from the Ghetto days - that he would be more conscious about his Christian image and values?  Mark Wahlberg - A real Catholic?
Always got to remember there is a difference between someone claiming to be Catholic and an actual practicing Catholic. The same could be said about Mel Gibson. But you do bring up a good point and I honestly don't know what to think of it. Mark Wahlberg - A real Catholic?
I have no idea who that is, so I'm just gonna say he's a beleiver who doesn't see anything wrong with portraying in fictoin.
his ghetto days?he's got good vibrations.
his ghetto days?he's got good vibrations.
He used to be on drugs and stuff, then he found religion apparently.

and what does being Catholic have to do with his career ?
I don't think it matters acting is acting it is just pretending to be someone else.
and what does being Catholic have to do with his career ?
Because I think if you were that passionate and believed in Religion as he supposedly does then I don't think you would want to imitate something that was against your values. Why do you think Church groups are against violence etc? They obviously don't like it and dont want to see it glorified on screen.
I don't think it matters acting is acting it is just pretending to be someone else.
Read the above. Also, hows that script going? Come on MSN! :P
its called acting. it doesnt make him any less catholic.
You can't act and convert to Catholicism?
I guess he's a bit of an idiot (the religion, not the drugs)
So being religious makes you an idiot, but destroying your body because you feel like it is perfectly normal?
Why single him out??That same question can be posed to millions upon millions of people. And in most cases I would think that it would be something more serious than acting in a movie.
I don't think it matters acting is acting it is just pretending to be someone else.
i pretty much agree
Mel Gibson is actually a schismatic. He is the head of a small religious group that he founded called ''the Holy Family Catholic Church'' while it's beliefs are shared with the Catholic Church, and it's worship is done in the 16th century Tridentine Rite (still used in the Catholic Church, but no longer the main rite) he is not in communion with the actual Catholic Church and does not recognize Papal authority.
It's called acting. Nothing says you can't be a catholic and do certain acting roles. I'm pretty sure God only cares about our actions, not what one might portray on TV or in a movie.
