How come most burger buns are smaller than the meat inside?

I'm a very active meat eater and I eat burgers alot.Just an observation to see if anyone else agrees.Has anyone noticed that when you buy a burger - A real burger, not a fast food burger - the bun of the burger is never the correct size to adequately enjoy the burger?Every time I get a delicious burger, the bun either gives up halfway through or simply rips.Does anybody else experience this frustrating phenomenon? How come most burger buns are smaller than the meat inside?

It's to make the actual burger itself look bigger, not the just meat. But my general observation is that fast food never looks anything like the picture.

Yes it happens to me a lot I don't mind it though.
That is why i love buns from the bakery there always bigger.
Stop being insecure with your ''meat''.................you just want smaller buns to make it look it bigger.......
To showcase the meat.

Also, I hate it when I'm eating a burger and the meat progressively moves toward one side so that it protrudes from the opposite side of the bun.
Actually, I've always found the buns to be bigger than the meat. :shock:
