wisdom teeth experience

i want to know how much pain is involved in getting your wisdom teeth out because in December i have to get 2 out. im also scared and this is probably going to suck a lot....... how long is the pain going to last? Also submit your experiencewisdom teeth experience
The actual operation I was asleep for, and when I woke up, I was stoned as hell. So that didn't hurt at all.Afterward, the stitches in my gums (I had impacted teeth, you may not) hurt a bit, and it was a pain trying to eat, but overall, it was never unbearable. I took my pain meds when I needed to and slept a lot. After a couple of weeks, the stitches dissolved. wisdom teeth experience
Are your teeth out, or will they need to cut your gums open to remove them? The healing process is much shorter in the former case.
Haha..weird. I'll tell you tomorrow since I'm getting all FOUR extracted.
But yay for Tylenol No. 3's :)

Oooo, great. I've got 4, I'm 17 and so far no word on whether they need to come out or not. They don't hurt or anything. Will they start to hurt when they need to come out?
I never had a problem with pain, my problem was bleeding. I kept bleeding long after it was supposed to stop. I never had to go back in or anything, but it sucked. Also, the first 2-3 days after I didn't feel all that great. Nothing terrible, but the experience is very annnoying.
Overblown imoYou get KO''d when they do the surgery so the surgery isn't a big deal.  I didn't take any of the pain meds they give you for after either.  Didn't really hurt at all was fine, aside from needing soft food, the next day.
seriously, don't worry about it. I got the four removed when I had braces. it was localized anesthesia(I was wide awake for it), and I didn't feel anything except for the very faint pop sound when the tooth is removed. in my experience, absolutely no pain involved before, during, and after the procedure.

That's why you need to get them out at a younger age; by the time you're older, it will be too late to remove them.
so they can put you to sleep, ive been wondering if they could do that and also my wisdom teeth are not sticking out so they need to cut my gum. Also my dentist said that one of the teeth maybe affecting my nervous (sp?) system which may cause numbness

Interestingly, I was at risk of getting my jaw broken during the operation along with nerve damage (I waited too long to get mine out), but nothing adverse happened at all.If they need to cut your gum, you'll probably have stitches. I hope you like the taste of gauze.

The surgery itself doesn't hurt, usually they'll knock you out for that (best sleep you'll ever have btw). Afterward they load you up on hardcore painkillers so you still don't really feel anything. Unless you try to eat. Then it hurts.I had all four of my wisdoms taken out a year ago. I was pretty much completely out of it the day of the surgery since the sedative was still wearing off and I was dosed up on painkillers at the same time. I also couldn't eat anything. Sucking with a straw was completely out of the question (hurt way too much) and even soft foods were very uncomfortable to eat. Second and third days were pretty much the same. Eating was a chore and my entire day pretty much consisted of take a painkiller, get knocked out for four hours, wake up, take another painkiller, go back to sleep for another four hours. But after about a week things started returning to normal, and by the second week I was able to eat anything I wanted again with no problems.

I had 2 wisdom teeth out, and four underneath the gums. I wond up having to take about 2 weeks worth of percocet for the pain.
im not looking forward to it but thankfully my dad is my dentist.
has anyone got their wisdom teeth out without puting you to sleep?
Take your pain meds on time and their will be zero pain... unless you get a dry socket (which I haven't experienced) that are supposed to be quite painful.
Whoa... Major deja vu. :oWeird.Anyway, I can't really say much as I've never had any.
