I just opened my first CD today

It's kind of a big deal for me I put 15 hundred in for eight months because I am no longer getting enough from my work each month to make a profit because of the way gas prices have been and the more I go to college the more I spend on gas and food. So has anybody here had a CD before and how much did it work out for you?I just opened my first CD today
My first CD was Guns and Roses ''Appetite for Destruction''. I'm pretty sure I have it still.I just opened my first CD today

Mine was a New Order CD I won from a radioi station, though it was about 2 years later that I got my first CD player ^_^
I haven't got nearly enough money for a CD but my sister put five thousand dollars in a CD account about half a year ago. I think she ended up with something like $120 in interest.

You screwed up. You should've invested in the stock market...

At least this way there was at least a noticable return. And it's safer than investing given the current status of the economy.

Actually, now isn't a bad time to buy if you are taking the long view...

[/QUOTE] well at least you not being from America might explain itbasically you put money in a CD and you cant touch it for a period of time and it builds more interest than it normally would in a savings account but the catch is you cant withdraw or add during that time either

I have a strange feeling you're talking to the wrong forum on this one.

If you have the money, and are smart about it, you can make a killing in the stock market in the next few years...
I prefer to download my music :P
