I panicked a bit when I realized I left ''joke'' out of the sentence, and it took a while to edit as the new site design makes my computer work noticeably slower.

I don't think so, maybe an awkward moment, or heated discussion, but I don't think they would kill them. Maybe tar and feather them though.
