About videogame or movie companies

Hey guys, i've kind of had this on my mind lately, and just wanted to talk to some people who may have some knowledge about this. Im a sophomore in high school and i've recently been thinking about things that I want to do when I get out of high school. One thing that i've always been interested in is law, so becoming a cop is something I am extremely interested in, and ive even talked to some people that are in law enforcement about this. But, being that this is a gaming website, I figured i'd bring my other ''career'' question here. Another thing i've always loved to do is write. Wheather it be, books, short stories, scripts, or videogames, i've always loved to write. I am no way smart enough to learn how to do codes and all that stuff to actually MAKE a videogame, i'd have to send in my story or idea and hopefully have a company interested enough to make the game. Anyway, what im getting at is, are their any videogame companies out there that have been created by ''script writers'' rather then video game ''creators''? Because like I said, in no way would I actually be able to make a game myself, but I could write them and maybe get a team together that is interested enough to make it.Does this sound like something that could actually happen? or is this justa completely ridiculous thought? Thanks a lot for your answers! About videogame or movie companies
I'm currently taking a game design class, and trust me when I say that there is A LOT more to planning a game then there seems to be. You can write a story, program, etc, etc, but there are a lot of little things that play a big factor into the game that you would have never realized before. If you're really going to look into it, I suggest taking a look at Game Design and Development by Ernest Adams and Andrew Rollings.About videogame or movie companies
From how I understand it, they have development teams with multiple script writers and each contribute to the end product. Though if your idea is good enough they might put you mainly in charge of the plot of the game or film (director?). You just have to get them to like your idea.

I know that their is a lot more to making the game, but what im saying is I would never be able to do stuff like write codes and things like that. My main job would just to be the script writer and the director. Then I would hire people on the staff who would want to take my ideas and turn them into a game. And yes, I understand this would take lots and lots of money, im just saying thats how I would want to do things.
I have never heard of a game which the game director/designer based his game's story on another writer's unless he's a very famous author.Usually it's always the game director/designer who comes up with the story himself.
